Dear Teacher:
Welcome to Ready4Reading, a K–3 supplemental phonics system powered by the science of reading, anchored in equity so all students receive the differentiated support they need, and designed to fit seamlessly into your structured literacy block.
Ready4Reading is composed of three interconnected modules, linked by a shared scope and sequence.
Wiley Blevins Teaching Phonics: Explicit, systematic instruction for teaching the alphabet, phonemic awareness, phonics, and word study.
Short Reads Decodables: 90 short texts that provide practice with the discrete phonics elements they are learning. These texts develop phonemic awareness, word study skills, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.
Read to Know Text Sets: 18 text sets, each focusing on an engaging, knowledge-building topic. Sets are anchored by high-interest, informational videos. These books apply and extend knowledge, decoding skills, and comprehension.
In each of these modules, you will follow a four-part framework: Teach - Practice - Apply - Prove, to help students master the content. Along with the instructional resources, the Ready4Reading system also includes 2 powerful assessment tools that provide a wealth of student data to help teachers pinpoint instruction to the unique needs of their students.
This User Guide provides information about everything you need to start Ready4Reading in your classroom.
