We recommend the following browser and operating system combinations for desktop and mobile usage of Scholastic programs. 

Using software that is not on this supported list will likely work as intended, though we cannot guarantee that all features will function properly. For optimal performance, security, and user experience, we recommend using one of our supported browser and operating system combinations.

Unless otherwise noted, we support the latest 2 versions of all browsers listed.

  • Ooka Island School Edition app is required for game play on iOS and Android
  • On Chromebooks with access to the Google Play store, Ooka Island School Edition is available as an app via the Google Play Store
  • Reports are not currently viewable on phones or devices with a resolution less than 1024x786
  • 2GB of available storage on iOS and Android devices

  • Student experience is compatible with iPad 2, however due to the age and support available for these devices, customers may experience some technical issues when using. Refreshing the browser page should resolve any issues.

Letters2Meaning

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The minimum required bandwidth for individual users is 5mbps
  • Letters2Meaning currently supports the devices listed below. Note that this list can change over time. To protect student data, when devices become obsolete and can no longer receive the latest operating system updates, they will no longer be supported.
    • Chromebooks: all up-to-date models with at least a 9.7" screen
    • Laptops/desktops
    • Operating Systems:
      • Windows 10
      • MacOS Mojave
      • Linux/Unix variants
  • The Letters2Meaning Assessment is designed to be responsive down to 1024x768 and 768x1024 resolutions.
  • Devices with speakers are required for audio instruction (headsets are strongly encouraged)
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: 
    • Ensure Letters2Meaning content is fully accessible via screen readers by tagging all images with descriptive alt text, using semantic HTML for content structure, and ensuring all interactive elements are keyboard navigable.
