Student Growth
Letters2Meaning (L2M) assesses a student’s letter identification, letter-sound identification, word reading, and spelling and comprehension skills. It also provides a grade equivalent score for each student. This graph provides insights into each student’s placement and growth across all L2M assessment administrations during the date range selected.
- Grade Equivalents: The numbers at the top of the chart indicate the grade equivalents. For example 1.5 is halfway through grade 1.
- L2M Assessments: The numbers in the circles represent an L2M assessment administration. Administrations are numbered in the order in which they were taken.
- Expected Levels: The expected level for the selected grade and month is shown in pink.
- View Range: Use the Grade and Month drop-down menus to view the expected levels at various grades and time periods.
Here are some things to look for in your data points:
- Check in with students who are falling outside of the expected levels for the current grade and month. Students whose assessment scores appear before the expected level may need more focused instruction. Students whose scores appear after the expected level may need more challenging materials.
