On 10/26/23, Scholastic became aware of an issue involving the underreporting of student minutes caused by the newly built e-reader that launched with the redesign of Literacy Pro in July 2023.
In this incident, a coding error affected how ebook minutes are recorded for books that have two-page spreads. This coding error caused an underreporting of student minutes read related to those ebooks.
All other ebooks that display as single pages were not affected, and all other reporting and functionality was not affected.
As of 11/1/2023, the incident has been resolved. All new student minutes entered into Literacy Pro are now reporting accurately.
Can I obtain the data unrecorded from July 17 to Nov 1?
Unfortunately, the minutes-read data for the two-page ebooks that were read between July 17 to Nov 1st 2023 are not available and cannot be retroactively obtained. When viewing data, we recommend that you customize the date range in your reports to start on or after Nov 1, 2023.
Alternatively, if you are looking at reports between July 17 through Nov 1, 2023, please supplement with other data points, assessments, and observations. Other data points from the students’ independent reading reports can provide context about usage for one-on-one conferring or parent conferences.
